How to Become a Godly Leader:
Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care
Pastor Chris had a rough upbringing due to his mom looking for love in all the wrong places. He came from nothing and had nothing but he had something, or better yet, someone: Jesus.
Later in life, he faced up to 7 years in jail for assaulting a federal judge, and he begged God for help, and God delivered: his dad walked into the courtroom with the entire marine corp station with lawyers, and so he joined the marines and began his venture. He loved it and excelled, and was selected for one of the most elite units: marine corps sniper. Everything started to come together for him. But still, he couldn’t fill the empty feeling he held inside.
His brother Jimmy, who was once a drug dealer and has since changed his life in service to God, introduced Pastor Chris to God when asked how he could fix his life. Pastor Chris was uninterested.
His brother said God spoke to him on behalf of Pastor Chris, and he told him that God said a great danger was coming and he wouldn’t be protected since he’s outside of God’s grace. Three days later his daughter was bitten by a rattlesnake and faced amputation. His brother said there was a 2nd part of the message: if he gave his life that day, the problem would be taken away as though it never happened.
He challenged God: man up and tell me yourself! When he went to leave the room, the doorknob had so much electricity he was brought to his hands and knees, and he felt someone’s hands on his back, and try as he might he could not come up. As he cried, a white light entered the room and he was overcome with a vision of love and an image of Jesus, and he said: you wanted me face to face; here I am. God was funny about it.
Above all, God said forgive. Let go. Let me do for your life what I need to do for your life.
When he goes to the hospital to see his daughter, nothing is wrong with her. The doctor says she is miraculously fine. Then Pastor Chris says to the doctors: let me tell you about Jesus!
Three months into his salvation, he went to a church seeking leadership so he could learn more about how God calls for us to live.

People don’t follow people, people follow people with vision
1 Corinthians 11:1 follow me as I follow Christ
True vision comes from God. Everything good comes from him.
Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me: write the visions; make it plain on tablets, so those who read it may be run with it
Reverse engineer the end result to create attainable markers then ask yourself, what am I doing right now that is not adding to the vision, and what am I not doing that I should be doing?
There is no such thing as one person being responsible for all the success. None of us are truly self made; there is God, and the team God gives us to succeed.
Celebrate Wins, Coach Losses
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Encourage one another and build one another up
Take a moment to celebrate the wins God has given you, and celebrate your team as well
There is nothing about tearing someone down that builds them up.
Lead with and Coach with Character
Talents and Gifts can take take one places their character can’t sustain them
There’s three kinds of people: those who receive Jesus as their savior, those who reject Jesus, and those who think what they have is light but what they really have is darkness (they are deceived).
Mathew 7:22-23: On judgment day, Many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name. Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’
God knows us by our spiritual fruit
Never Give up
MLK JR: “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
God gets the glory, man gets the honor
Walk with God, talk to God, and get to know him intimately
